JANUARY 25, 2008 Yesterday, Bruce Chapin of Willmar claimed a $390,772 Gopher 5 jackpot at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville.
The first line on his five-line quick-pick ticket matched all five numbers drawn on Jan. 22 to win the jackpot (2-8-10-28-39).

Deby’s, located at 2324 East Highway 12 in Willmar, sold the winning ticket.
Gopher 5 is Minnesota’s own cash lotto for which players pick five numbers from 1 to 47 for a chance to win a jackpot of at least $100,000. The odds of matching all five numbers to win the jackpot are 1 in 1,533,939. The approximate overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 12.

A Warrensburg man is making plans for his and his family’s future after he won $200,000 playing Powerball. Robert "Bob" Showers, 56, won the game’s second-level prize when his ticket matched the five white-ball numbers drawn on Jan. 23. He purchased his winning ticket at Country Market, 410 E. Young in Warrensburg.
Showers, a professor at the University of Central Missouri, said he purchased his ticket on Jan. 21 while shopping for groceries.

A few days later, Showers gave his ticket to his fiancée, Rebecca, to have her check to see if it was a winner.
Showers said he thought she was kidding when she called to tell him what the ticket was worth.
"It’s still hard to believe," he said.
Showers said he plans to use his winnings to pay off a few bills and invest the rest for the future.
Showers let the computer Quick Pick his winning numbers, which were: 4, 16, 35, 47 and 48. His ticket was the 85th second-level winning Powerball ticket since the game redesign on Aug. 28, 2005.

ATLANTA,GA A recreational fisherman found lottery luck on a deep hook. Eugene Hartley of Dalton won a $400,000 top prize playing the Georgia Lottery instant game Sterling Silver.
Hartley, 80, and his son stopped at Cagle's Stop / Shop, 3200 New Rosedale Road in Calhoun, before their fishing trip.
"We always tease each other that we'd won a prize," he said. "This time I told him that I'd won $400,000."

Hartley has two adult children, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He plans to save his winnings.
"It's exciting. It's great," he exclaimed.

AUSTIN, Tx., Others may have enjoyed events on December 31, but it was only after the New Year’s Eve
revelry quieted that John Jones of Fort Worth really began celebrating. On January 1, his
numbers (13 16 25 30 54 and Mega Ball 11) came up for the Mega Millions drawing with an advertised jackpot of $33 million.
According to Jones, It’s been an unbelievable experience.
He purchased his Quick Pick numbers at the C-Store Sub Express located at
3201 N. Beach St. in Fort Worth. Because he chose the Cash Value Option,
he will receive a single payment of $20,024,272, before taxes. The retailer
is also eligible to receive a bonus of $330,000 for selling the winning ticket.
The C-Store Sub Express hasn’t seen the last of Jones, though. He says he’ll
keep playing the game that paid off so well.
There is another drawing on Friday, he said. We’ll probably get tickets on the way home.

Bismarck, ND On Saturday night, December 22, Lady Luck found a player with a winning Powerball ticket worth $200,000. The ticket was sold at Highway Standard in Carrington. The winning numbers were: 5, 10, 11, 34, 38 and the Powerball number was 21. A $200,000 winning ticket matches all five numbers, but not the Powerball. The ticket was purchased without the Power Play option.
The Lottery encourages players to check their tickets for winning numbers and sign their tickets to protect their prize. Lottery Director Chuck Keller said, “Before you do anything else, sign the back of your ticket. Your ticket is your only claim for the prize.” Winning players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prizes.
This is the second $200,000 win for North Dakota Lottery players in the past month. For the November 21 draw, a $200,000 winning Powerball ticket was sold in Fargo at Stop N Go. If Saturday’s winner had purchased the Power Play option, the $200,000 prize would have been multiplied by 4, making the prize worth $800,000.

Del City Resident Claims $600k Prize
W.G. Kulessa from Del City, Oklahoma, won $600,000 playing Powerball
on Jan. 23.

Kulessa purchased his winning ticket at Good Time Market, located at 4500 S. Sunnylane, in Oklahoma City.
Kulessa has been playing the lottery since it began in Oklahoma and played before that in Kansas. He always purchases the Power Play option and plans to pay off bills with his winnings.
The winning numbers from Wednesday’s draw were 4-16-35-47-48, and the Powerball number was 39. The Power Play multiplier was 3. Kulessa matched all five white ball numbers but missed the red Powerball number.
Players can obtain winning numbers on the Oklahoma Lottery website, www.lottery.ok.gov, or by simply visiting their closest lottery retailer. Prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing.

You’ve heard the term mega bucks and that is just what a South Vienna resident will be getting. Erik Riggle won $250,000, a second-tier prize, for matching five numbers in the January 22, 2008 Mega Millions drawing. He filed a claim in the Dayton regional office on Tuesday.
After mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 31 percent, Riggle will receive a check for $172,500.
The winning numbers were 12-15-22-25-33. The mega ball number was 02. Riggle used auto lotto.

He purchased the winning ticket from Murphy USA #7310, at 50 S. Tuttle Road in Springfield.
Murphy USA received a $1,000 bonus for selling a second-tier prize winning ticket.

SACRAMENTO,CA While the MEGA Millions jackpot is soaring to $87 million tonight, the California Lottery is still on the lookout for a winner from the MEGA Millions draw last Tuesday.

Two California tickets from Tuesday’s draw hit five of the six lucky numbers. Each ticket has a value of $174,574. One, sold in Fountain Valley in Orange County, was claimed, but the other ticket, sold at a Riverside County 7-Eleven, has not been turned in. The Riverside County ticket was sold in Corona at the 7-Eleven at 702 West 6th Street.

Net Revenues Support Legislative Lottery Scholarships January 3, 2008

ALBUQUERQUE The New Mexico Lottery today introduced a feature that will give Hot Lotto® players a chance to win larger prizes.
Called Sizzler, the feature will automatically multiply all non-jackpot prizes by three on every drawing. With Sizzler, a winning $10,000 Hot Lotto ticket will be multiplied into a $30,000 prize. The Sizzler feature costs an additional $1 per play and is available now at 1,100 lottery retailers statewide.
To play Hot Lotto, players select five numbers from one to 39 and one Hot Ball number from one to 19. Each play is priced at $1. Players can win prizes by matching their numbers to the numbers drawn in one of nine ways. Hot Lotto jackpots start at $1 million and increase by at least $50,000 per drawing until someone wins. Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday evenings.
The New Mexico Lottery had its first Hot Lotto jackpot winner in August 2007 when Edward Boyd of Farmington matched the drawn numbers of 3, 11, 18, 34, 38 and the red Hot Lotto of 3. Boyd and a player in Minnesota shared the estimated $2 million annuity jackpot equally.

LANSING, January 29, 2008 - W. Damm, a self-proclaimed "occasional" Mega Millions player, struck it rich when he matched five numbers, without the Mega ball and won a $250,000 prize!
The Grosse Pointe Woods man also matched three white ball numbers, without the gold Mega ball to bring his grand prize total to $250,007!




Damm learned of his good fortune from his newspaper and then immediately checked the Lottery's Web site for confirmation. He explained the experience as "weird" because he never thought he would actually see his numbers


The lucky winner told Lottery officials that the easy pick ticket prize money will be put in savings, and he enjoys photography and traveling in his free time.
The winning ticket was purchased at Michigan Fuels #731613, 20700 Mack Ave., in Grosse Pointe Woods.

SACRAMENTO – No one picked all five winning numbers and the MEGA number to win Tuesday night’s top jackpot for MEGA Millions, but two tickets holding the first five numbers were sold in Southern California.

Those tickets are worth $174,574 each. One was sold in Riverside County and the other was sold in Orange County. The Riverside ticket was sold in Corona at a 7-Eleven at 702 West 6th Street. The Orange ticket was sold in Fountain Valley at a 7-Eleven at 10044 Ellis Avenue.
