1 Powerball winner in Colorado

$20 MILLION POWERBALL JACKPOT WON 10/11/2007

One lucky ticket in Colorado Powerball matched all 6 numbers Wednesday evening and walked away with the $20 million jackpot. The holder of the winning ticket will now have to decide to either take the 29-year, 30-installment annuity, or take the one time cash “lump sum” amount of $9,402,914.

There were a total of 404,670 additional winning tickets in America’s Game Wednesday evening. Those winners won prizes totaling $4,094,067.

The numbers drawn were 12, 16, 31, 33, 54 and the Powerball was 5. The Power Play multiplier was 4.

Four tickets correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $200,000. These tickets were sold in Kentucky (1), New Mexico (1), Pennsylvania (1), and South Dakota (1).

Fifteen tickets matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Five additional players not only matched 4+1, but also wisely purchased the Power Play option for a total win of $40,000!

A total of 87,958 winning Powerball plays were multiplied by 4 Wednesday evening. Winners were able to do so by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you can multiply your winnings, except for the jackpot, from 2 to 5 times. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night’s multiplier.

Players purchased $16,178,312 in Powerball and Power Play tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night.

The jackpot for Saturday, October 13th will be $15 million.

The lotteries sold more than $2.5 billion in Powerball tickets in FY07. That translates into more than $725 million for worthwhile state projects.
