TWO $600,000 POWER PLAY PRIZES WON!
12/6/2007 Even though the grand prize was not hit Wednesday evening, Powerball paid off in big ways. Two tickets in North Carolina (1) and Pennsylvania (1) matched all 5 white ball numbers with the Power Play for a whopping $600,000 cash win on each! One other lucky ticket in New Mexico (1) won $200,000 by matching all 5 white ball numbers!
The jackpot for the Saturday, December 8th drawing will be $26 million with the cash option at $13 million.
The numbers drawn Wednesday evening were 1, 8, 15, 21, 55, and the Powerball was 41. The Power Play multiplier was 3.
Fourteen tickets matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Four additional tickets of that prize level had the Power Play and had the prize multiplied by 3 for a $30,000 cash win! A total of 341,706 tickets across the nation won more than $3.8 million in prizes playing America’s favorite game.
A total of 66,255 winning Powerball tickets multiplied their prize by 3 Wednesday. Players were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for $1. With Power Play you multiply your Powerball winnings from 2-5 times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night’s multiplier.
Players purchased $16,162,676 in Powerball and Power Play tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night.
