Hull,Massachusetts: Call to work nets $10 million lotto win

03/17/08 When Edmund J. Babcock was recently called into work at the Hull sewage plant, he stopped off on his way at a nearby convenience store to buy a Billion Dollar Blockbuster ticket. The brief detour changed his life when he won $10 million in an instant.
Babcock, his wife Cheryl, received his first of 20 annuity checks for $500,000 before taxes today at Massachusetts Lottery headquarters in Braintree.
A lifelong Hull resident, Babcock’s first purchase will be the house he currently rents.

He bought the lucky ticket at the Tedeschi’s at 672 Nantasket Ave. in Hull. The store will receive a $50,000 commission on the sale.
Billion Dollar Blockbuster is the biggest game ever created by an American lottery. The game features 10 instant prizes of $10 million and 130 instant
prizes of $1 million. One lucky Massachusetts lotto player will win $1 million a year for life.
