09/25/08 Million dollar Powerball winner in Kendallville
Tara Halderman hits the Indiana Lottery for a $1,000,000 dollar Powerball jackpot. Tara picked up her $1,000,000 from Hoosier Lottery Headquarters. Halderman matched 5 of the 6 numbers on 9/21/08 for a $200,000 win, but with her Power Play option her win was multiplied 5 times for a $1 million cash prize. "I was picking up groceries and on the bottom of my Wal-Mart receipt it said, 'Don't forget to buy your Powerball ticket,' since the jackpot was high," said Halderman.
