Odd or Evens in Powerball and the Mega Millions lottery

Odd or Evens in Powerball and the Megamillions lottery

or

How to improve your odds of winning the lotto by millions.

One factor to consider in picking your Powerball
or the Megamillion lottery numbers is the ratio between
the odd / even lotto numbers.

Looking at the past history of all lottery games
there appears a pattern that shows you would be better off
by not playing all odd or all even numbers.

Example of playing all even numbers 2.4.6.20.40
example of playing all odd balls 3.11.21.35.47

For the 462 Megamillion lotto games reviewed at
the www.needto.net lotto site, the ratios were

Odd/even combo analysis
*******************************************************
play mix hits
5 odd 0 even 13 as a percentage 2.81 %
4 odd 1 even 63 as a percentage 13.64 %
3 odd 2 even 142 as a percentage 30.74 %
2 odd 3 even 163 as a percentage 35.28 %
1 odd 4 even 67 as a percentage 14.50 %
0 odd 5 even 14 as a percentage 3.03 %
*****************************************************************

Looking at the table above, you may improve your odds
by playing either 3 odd /2 even or 2 odd / 3 even.
These rations accounted for almost 2/3 of all past winners.
30.74 + 35.28 = 66.02%

Or almost 2/3 of past winner follow this rule.

These ratios are always changing, but this pattern does
occur across all lotto / lottery games. To see the current
lottery ratios see http://www.needto.net/index.html?goart

Wife's small rebellion played role in $340 million Powerball win

Wife's small rebellion played role in $340 million Powerball win

SALEM, Ore. Steve West wasn't interested when his in-laws — Bob and Frances Chaney asked if he and his wife Carolyn wanted to buy some lottery tickets last month and try for the record $340 million Powerball jackpot.

"I told my wife we never win at that," West said in an interview on KOBI-TV in the Southern Oregon town of Medford.

Carolyn West went in on $40 worth of tickets anyway. It was a small act of rebellion, but one that played a role in the four purchasing the $340 million Powerball ticket.

Did 17-Year-Old Buy $340 Million Powerball Ticket?

Did 17-Year-Old Buy $340 Million Powerball Ticket?

Family Denies Rumor

MEDFORD, Ore. -- Officials are investigating a rumor that a 17-year-old purchased the winning $340 million Powerball ticket.
While they have yet to come forward officially, a Medford family claims to have the lucky ticket.

Officials say they called the alleged jackpot winners when they heard that the person who bought the ticket could be underage. The family denied the claim but did not say who did buy it.

The Oregon Attorney General's Office will hold a meeting Monday to discuss what will happen if the ticket for the record Powerball jackpot was bought by a 17-year-old.

"One of our efforts, certainly, is preventative legal advice, so we try to catch things up ahead of time. Now I doubt we'll put a huge amount of effort into this because I really don't think it's that complex of an issue. And again if a 17-year-old shows up wanting to get a ticket turned in, then I think we'll take a much more in-depth review," Kevin Neely of the Oregon Attorney General's Office told KOIN News 6.

Lottery officials are confident that the prize will not be jeopardized, even if a minor bought the ticket. They say it all comes down to who turns it in.

Happy day in Cloquet

Happy day in Cloquet

Woman wins lottery jackpot totaling $853,492

Mary Ellen House was glad she was grasping a grocery cart. When the 56-year-old Cloquet woman discovered she had won $853,492 in the lottery, she confessed to feeling ``a little shaky.''

House was at the Cloquet Super One grocery store to pick up a few things when she asked a cashier to check her Oct. 19 Powerball Match 5 ticket. The cashier initially told House she had won $200,000. But after calling the lottery office, the cashier realized it was a bit more than that, and came chasing after House to tell her the news.

The lottery office deposited a first payment of $4,900 in her checking account on Wednesday. The balance, about $500,000 after taxes, will be deposited later.

House works part time for the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center's catering service, and also as a home aide for several Cloquet residents. Her husband is a Potlatch retiree.

The couple doesn't plan any major changes in the near future. They might buy a new computer, maybe a newer used car, but certainly not a new car, House said.

``They depreciate so much as soon as you drive them off the lot,'' she said, laughing.

Air Force coach says school needs more black players to compete

Air Force coach says school needs more black players to compete

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force football coach Fisher DeBerry said Tuesday his coaching staff needed to recruit more African-American athletes, reiterating a comment he made Monday while talking about the state of his struggling program.

Academy officials released a statement Tuesday night saying they would review the remarks.

"The senior leadership of the academy is aware of media reports about Coach DeBerry's comments on minority recruiting," academy spokesman Lt. Col. Laurent Fox said. "We can not comment further until we have a chance to review all of the reports, the coach's actual statements and to speak with the coach personally."

Talking Monday about the reasons for his team's 3-5 start and the possibility of consecutive losing seasons for the first time since he became coach in 1984, DeBerry, 67, noted his team's lack of speed compared to Texas Christian University, which beat Air Force, 48-10, last Saturday.

"You don't see many minority athletes in our program," DeBerry said.

Asked during his Tuesday news conference to clarify those remarks, DeBerry responded:

"It's very obvious to me the other day that the other team had a lot more Afro-American players than we did, and they ran a lot faster than we did. It just seems to be that way, that Afro-American kids can run very, very well. That doesn't mean that Caucasian kids and other descents can't run, but it's very obvious to me they run extremely well. Their defense had 11 Afro-American kids on their team, and they were a very, very good defensive football team. That's exactly what I was talking about."

Though the academy itself recruits minorities, DeBerry's comments could be construed as controversial because they seem to equate race with athletic ability.

Asked if he believed it was wrong to make such comments, DeBerry said:

"Do I believe it's wrong? I just want to recruit speed. We need to find speed as much as anything. The black athlete seems to have, statistically, program to program to program, seems to have an edge as far as the speed is concerned. That's got nothing to do with anything except ability."

DeBerry came under criticism last year for his role in the academy's discussion of religious tolerance. Last season, DeBerry was forced to remove a Christian banner from the team's locker room and underwent training on religious tolerance.

This season, for the first time since he became coach, DeBerry has not led his team in pre- and post-game prayers because of guidelines on religious expression established by the Air Force in late August.

Record $340 Million Ticket Sold in Oregon!
The small town of Jacksonville (population 1,955) located in southwest Oregon lays claim to having sold the single winning ticket for the record breaking $340 million Powerball jackpot. The ticket was sold at one of only two Powerball retailers in the city: Ray's Food Place or the Jacksonville Tavern. No one has stepped forward yet to claim the prize, but when they do they will have to decide on the 29-year, 30-payment annuity, or the cash option worth $164,410,058. The winner will have 60 days after their ticket is validated to make that decision.

a US Senator hits 5 of 5 in the Powerball lotto

Sen. Gregg wins $853,000 in Powerball
'I don't plan to quit my job'

"Even senators can be lucky," he told reporters outside the D.C. Lottery claims center, where he picked up his check.

The Republican from New Hampshire -- who chairs the Budget Committee and who has a reputation as a strict fiscal conservative -- said his wife is currently remodeling their home and already has plans for the new money.

"She's already told me, 'Don't spend it. I've already got plans.'"

He said he bought about $20 of tickets on Monday at a D.C. Citgo gas station as he headed from Baltimore to Washington for a Senate vote.

"I don't plan to quit my job," he said with a smile.

He will owe 25 percent in federal taxes on the $853,492. New Hampshire doesn't have state income taxes and so he will get to keep the rest.

Gregg already is a millionaire, according to personal financial records that senators are required to file annually.

His latest filing, which documents his financial records for the calendar year of 2004, shows that Gregg has assets between $2,697,000 and $9,430,000, mostly in an extensive stock and real estate portfolio.

After hearing the lottery news, Sen. Kent Conrad, D-North Dakota, the top Democrat on the Budget Committee, quipped the money should be used to pay down the federal deficit.

"We'll take it all," he said.

Gregg was one of 49 winners of the runner-up cash award in a drawing that also earned one lucky winner from Oregon $340 million.

The Gregg family was in the news for less happy reasons two years ago when two men entered their McLean, Virginia, home and abducted Gregg's wife, Kathleen. She was driven to a nearby ATM where she gave the knife-wielding robbers money before escaping from them.
