Colquitt. GA electrician strikes gold with $1M lottery win September 27, 2007

ATLANTA A Colquitt electrician is wired over winning the lottery. Tony Richardson, 34, won a $1 million prize playing the Georgia Lottery instant game $300 Million Gold Rush.
Amoco Food Store, 218 N. Main St. in Statesboro, sold the lucky ticket. Richardson, who works for Alabama Electric Cooperative, stopped for dinner with his crew when he decided to purchase the ticket. He waited until he was well on his way back home to scratch it.

"I looked at it four times," he said. "I had to call my supervisor, who was in another truck, and we all pulled over to look at it."

Richardson lives in Colquitt with his wife, Alison, and his three children, ages 5, 2 and a newborn son. He plans to save for the children’s education and will buy a new house and truck.

"I'm shocked," he exclaimed. "I still can't believe it."
