$1,000,000 Lottery Prize Sets Record For Lottery City Of Middletown

Schenectady, NY Thirty-seven-year-old Severino Segundo of Middletown, Orange County, has earned a place in Lottery history as the 153rd new Lottery Millionaire of 2007 the New York Lottery’s record-breaking 40th anniversary year. His win also secures Middletown’s reputation as Orange County’s luckiest Lottery city ever.


Segundo claimed his $1,000,000 prize on the Lottery’s popular $500,000,000 Extravaganza instant game. He will receive his prize in annual payments of $50,000, less required tax withholdings, for the next 20 years.
It feels GREAT! said Segundo of his win. I am a very, very happy man today.
Segundo moved to the United States 20 years ago from his native Mexico where he still has family.


I will continue to work, he said. I’m a hard working guy with a family to support. I have to work, but now I can enjoy myself, too.
Segundo bought his winning ticket at the same Mobil On The Run store where he purchases his daily cup of coffee.
It’s my morning routine, he explained. I get some coffee and a couple of tickets to go. It’s just how I start my day.
Segundo purchased his ticket on December 23, 2007 and claimed it on Christmas Eve, 2007. The bachelor millionaire plans to use his newfound wealth to buy his first home, a place I can call my own.
Middletown, NY is now home to five Lottery Millionaires making it the winning-est city for Lottery players in Orange County. The growing list of Middletown Lottery Millionaires includes Jack Tuthill who won $7,000,000 playing Lotto in 1984; Stephen Dade who won a minimum of $1,000,000 in 1996 on the Win for Life instant game; George Martin who won his $1,000,000 minimum prize payout on the Win for Life game in 2003; and Doreen Patterson who claimed her $19,000,000 Lotto prize in 2006.
