1/13/2008 Even though the grand prize was not hit Saturday evening, Powerball had some big winners. One ticket in Pennsylvania (1) matched all 5 white ball numbers with the Power Play for an incredible $600,000 cash win! Five other lucky tickets sold in Arizona (2), Louisiana (2), and North Carolina (1) won $200,000 each by matching all 5 white ball numbers!

The jackpot for the Wednesday, January 16th drawing will be $95 million with the cash option at $47.5 million.
The numbers drawn Saturday evening were 23, 39, 43, 47, 53, and the Powerball was 14. The Power Play multiplier was 3.
Twenty-seven tickets matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Four additional tickets of that prize level had the Power Play and had the prize multiplied by 3 for a $30,000 cash win! A total of 566,645 tickets across the nation won more than $5.4 million in prizes playing America’s favorite game.
A total of 105,688 winning Powerball tickets multiplied their prize by 3 Saturday. Players were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for $1. ATLANTA A Valdosta man is celebrating the New Year as a new millionaire. Willie Frank Williams Jr. played the Georgia Lottery instant game Georgia’s $500 Million Club and won $1 million.
Eddie / Betty’s Food Mart, located at 733 S. Lee St. in Valdosta, sold the lucky ticket.
I was just in shock, said Williams, 20.

According to Williams, he is still deciding how to spend his winnings.
I’m thinking about a lot of things, he said.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $9.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education. Then I shouted to my wife that she had to look, too, because I couldn’t believe my eyes – we had a winner! says Frank Mungin, recapping how he found out he won $180,000 in the December 29 Hit 5 drawing. She started screaming, then we yelled for the kids to come see!
Once they settled down, the Mungins called their parents, who were equally stunned.

Russell and Kelly Shelby, residents of Mounds, Oklahoma, stepped forward today to claim their $800,016 Powerball prize at Lottery Headquarters in Oklahoma City.
They plan to buy a new truck with the money, and invest for their retirement.
The Shelbys missed the Powerball number, and a $62.5 million jackpot, by only one number. The Powerball number that was drawn was 10, and their Powerball number was 9. On a separate play, however, they had 9 for the Powerball.
We plan to keep on playing, Kelly Shelby said.
The winning ticket was purchased at Tiger’s Country Store, located at 3014 E. 201st St. S. in Mounds, a town of approximately 1,100 residents in northeastern Oklahoma.
The Shelbys have played the Lottery regularly for about 10 years in other states before the Lottery launched in Oklahoma – and most frequently purchase their tickets at Tiger’s.
The $10,000 winners from Warr Acres and Goldsby, Oklahoma, have not yet claimed their prizes.

Wendy Riordan has been playing the same numbers in Megabucks for nearly two decades. Her dedication paid off last night when her numbers came in and she won a $670,424 jackpot from the Massachusetts State Lottery.
Riordan of Whitinsville is pictured here with her daughter Madison and husband Tim. She said she will use the money to pay off bills and save for her children’s education.
She bought the winning ticket at Veras Mini Mart in Whitinsville. The store will receive a $6,700 commission on the sale.

Massachusetts Megabucks is drawn every Wednesday and Saturday at 11:20 p.m. at WCVB-TV Channel 5. Megabucks, one of the more popular jackpot games offered by the Massachusetts State Lottery, debuted in 1982. Players pick six numbers and win for correctly matching at least three numbers.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any bigger the Classic Lotto 47 jackpot has jumped again- to a whopping $16.5 million!
This record jackpot far surpasses the largest amount ever won in the game, a $12.6 million prize paid in July 2007.
"The big jackpot is great! Michigan players can now win more playing Classic Lotto 47 than Mega Millions and with better odds!" Acting Lottery Commissioner Tom Weber said.
Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot is $16 million.

Although no one won the Classic Lotto 47 jackpot, 19 lucky players matched five numbers to win $2,500 and over 1,000 players matched four numbers and won $100.
Saturday's winning numbers were 04 17 22 24 34 44.
The next Classic Lotto 47 drawing is Wednesday at 7:29 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at any Lottery retailer and sales for Wednesday's 7:29 p.m. drawing will close at 7:08 p.m. that night.

INDIANAPOLIS William Sallee, 24, of Auburn has been a hard worker all of his life. He's been working two jobs trying to save enough money for a college education. After today, Sallee may be able to relinquish some of his work load since winning $1 million in the form of an annuity payment.
"All of our kids have a great work ethic," said Clarence Sallee, William's father. "But this one here works the hardest."
Sallee and his father claimed $1,000,000 at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters today.

"Everybody that I work with said they were happy that someone who deserved it actually won," said Sallee. "I was at work when I scratched off the ticket. I couldn't believe it and had to ask my boss if I was reading it correctly."
Sallee won the $1 million prize on Scratch-off game Hoosier Millions that literally turned him into a Hoosier Millionaire. He purchased the winning-ticket from Mac Food Mart at 6925 SR 930 E in Fort Wayne.
Sallee plans to pay off some of his debts and achieve his goal of becoming a registered nurse. He hopes to go to Indiana University in the fall and graduate with a R.N. degree.

01/04/2008 Billings Couple Claim Montana Millionaire Top Prize

Gary and B. J. Klipstein of Billings have claimed the Million Dollar Prize in the Lottery’s Montana Millionaire game. The Klipsteins presented their ticket, numbered 136916, at Lottery Headquarters this afternoon.
Gary is an avid Lottery player, but always expected the game he’d win would be Montana Cash. I kept telling B.J. we were going to win, said Gary. Wife B. J. said she’s a pessimist, and wasn’t quite as confident as her husband. It still seems surreal, she said.
Gary bought his winning ticket on Saturday, December 29, at 24th Street Cenex in Billings. He buys his regular Lottery tickets at 24th Street Cenex.

Gary is a charge nurse at the Billings Clinic, and has been there nearly 30 years. B. J. is a homemaker, and they are parents of two. They also have several grandchildren.
Gary went home for lunch on Monday, December 31, and while he was home, decided he should check the Lottery’s website to see what the winning numbers were from that morning’s Grand Prize Drawing. He immediately saw that the Million Dollar ticket was sold at 24th Street Cenex. Hey, this might be something, he said. Then he looked at the number and realized it was his number. I hollered at B. J., and told her we won, said Gary. You’re crazy, B. J. replied. B. J. said she had to keep looking at the ticket and the winning numbers to make sure it was real.
The Klipsteins will be cautious with their winnings. Gary, who is 69, intends to work at least another two years, although he admits retirement is looking pretty good. They plan on investing their money, and working with financial advisors so they can retire comfortably. The one splurge they are thinking about is a trip to Hawaii. I’ve wanted to go there, said B. J. Now it seems possible.

The Powerball jackpot continues to build. Even though the grand prize was not hit Wednesday evening, 435,405 players across the nation won a total of more than $3.9 million in prizes in America’s favorite Game.
Because no one correctly matched all six numbers the jackpot will grow to an estimated $63 million for Saturday night’s drawing.

The cash option for the Saturday, January 5th drawing will be an estimated $30.8 million.
The numbers drawn Wednesday were 2, 11, 31, 34, 48 and the Powerball was 5. The Power Play multiplier was 4.

One lucky ticket in Oklahoma (1) correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $200,000.
Twenty-seven tickets matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000.
Eight additional winners of that prize category also had the Power Play option that multiplied the win 4 times for a total of $40,000 each!

A total 88,772 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 4 Wednesday. They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you multiply any winnings from 2-5 times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night’s multiplier.
Players purchased $17,462,914 in Powerball and Power Play tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night.

CT Lotto news One of them is worth $8.8 million

December 21, 2007 -- Lottery players from Fairfield County, check your Classic Lotto tickets! One of them is worth $8.8 million, and so far, no one has come forward to claim the prize, according to CT Lottery officials.
Security records of the Connecticut Lottery Corporation verify that a Fairfield County lottery retailer sold the winning jackpot ticket for the Friday, November 23, 2007 Classic Lotto drawing. According to Fred DuPuis, Director of Security for the CT Lottery, “Anyone who purchased a ticket in Fairfield County for that drawing could be Connecticut’s newest lottery millionaire, and needs to check their tickets.”

There were 11,521 winning tickets, with prizes ranging from $2 to $8.8 million, for the November 23 Classic Lotto drawing. Winning Classic Lotto numbers for that date were 04 - 07 - 10 - 23 - 28 - 38.
Classic Lotto tickets are valid for one year from the drawing date. To claim the jackpot, the purchaser of the winning ticket should sign it to establish ownership, go to any CT Lottery retail location prior to the expiration deadline to have it validated and then present it at Lottery headquarters in New Britain.

TOPEKA, KAN. A McPherson resident came to Lottery headquarters today to claim a Super Kansas Cash jackpot worth $1,082,082 in the November 3, 2007 drawing. The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased the jackpot-winning ticket at Casey’s General Store 2281, located at 1331 N. Main in McPherson, the day of the drawing.
I only play Super Kansas Cash a couple times a month, stated the winner. When I do buy tickets, I usually spend $1 or $2. That day, I splurged on a $5 ticket.
The next day, the winner decided to check his winning ticket at a local convenience store.

I had a few tickets from previous drawings that I wanted to check too, said the winner. I used a Check-A-Ticket machine when I went into the store. The first couple of tickets didn’t win but the third ticket I scanned read, ‘See store clerk. Claim at Lottery.’ I had never seen that before, so I went home and looked up the winning numbers on the Lottery’s website.
After realizing he was holding a ticket worth $1,082,082, the winner debated on driving to the Lottery office in Great Bend for verification.
My wife was out of town at the time, said the winner. So I had to wait for my kids to get home from school. Instead of making the hour drive to Great Bend, I decided to call the office. Once they confirmed my win, I was nervous but fairly calm too.
In fact he was so calm, he went and played a game of handball and returned shortly after his wife arrived home.
When I got home, I asked her what she would do with $1 million dollars if we had it, said the winner. She said she didn’t know and what a stupid question that was. When I explained we had won a Super Kansas Cash jackpot, she didn’t believe me. My neighbor, who knew we had won, finally convinced her I wasn’t joking.

After celebrating with a few friends that evening, the winners placed their winning ticket in safe deposit box for safekeeping until arriving at Lottery headquarters today.
We’re both going to continue working, said the winner. We’re buying my mom a new house and plan to take a family vacation to Disneyland during spring break. The rest of the money we plan to invest and hope to retire in our early 50s.
The winners, who have been married 13 years, have two school-aged children.

Rhode Island’s largest PowerBall prize has been claimed. The $151.9 million PowerBall winner, Sheila Botelho of Swansea, MA, appointed attorney, Peter Saulino, to claim the winnings on her behalf.
The $151.9 million winning PowerBall ticket for the drawing held on
November 28th was purchased at the Warren Mart, 428 Child Street in Warren.
Sheila chose the cash option and will receive a lump sum payment of $75,231,092.06
before taxes and $51,157,142.61 after 25% in Federal Taxes and 7% State Taxes have been withheld.

The $33.6 million winning Powerball ticket from last night’s drawing has been presented to Kentucky Lottery officials in Louisville. The winner, who bought the ticket at the 44 Quick Stop located at 2329 Highway 44 West, claimed the cash option prize of $16.47 million ($11.36 million after taxes) earlier today and wished to remain anonymous. The ticket was a $5 quick-pick.
The $33.6 million jackpot was the 11 th largest in Kentucky Lottery history. It was also Kentucky’s second winner of the big game in the past 11 weeks. In late September, 22 workers at the Nukote office in Bardstown split a $61.5 million jackpot.
The retailer will receive a $28,600 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
