Rural mail carrier hits the Georgia Lotto for $501K


06/18/08 A retired Jackson mail carrier has a Georgia lottery win. Freddie Dodson, retired rural mail carrier
for the US Postal Service, hit all 5 winning numbers in the Georgia Fantasy 5 lotto drawing
and won a $501,448 top prize.
Jackson Food Mart at 412 W. Third St. in Jackson,GA., sold the winning Georgia Quik Pik lotto ticket.
A grandfather of 5 said he checked the winning numbers at the store a few days after the drawing.
"I was kind of startled at first," said Dodson. no immediate plans for their Georgia lotto winnings.
"Winning the lottery feels pretty good," he shared. "I'm not sure yet of what to do."
