02/24/08 Powerball Jackpot rolls over to $133 Million
The jackpot in America’s favorite lottery game continues to get bigger and bigger.
Even though the grand prize was not awarded Saturday evening,
1 lucky ticket in Oklahoma matched all 5 white numbers with the Power
Play and won a whopping $600,000 cash! Nine other winners matched all
5 white numbers for $200,000. Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Saturday’s drawing the jackpot will grow to an estimated $133 million!
The cash option for the Wednesday, February 27th drawing will be an estimated $65.1 million.
The numbers drawn Saturday night were 8, 13, 23, 29, 47 and the Powerball was 32. The Power Play multiplier was 3.
A total of 115,579 winning Powerball tickets multiplied their prizes by 3 Saturday. Players were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you multiply your Powerball winnings from 2 to 5 times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night’s multiplier.
Players purchased $30,740,965 in Powerball and Power Play tickets between Thursday and Saturday night.
