$250K Mega Millions lotto winner in Chesterfield,VA.
Kevin Branch of Chesterfield was joking when he said, I’ll be going down to the Lottery soon.” He didn’t really think he would have the chance to redeem a ticket for $250,000. But just a few days after making that joke, he was on his way to the Lottery with a winning ticket.
Mr. Branch matched the first five numbers in the February 22, 2008, Mega Millions drawing. His ticket only missed the Mega Ball number.
He bought the winning ticket at E / C VA, located at 9430 Ironbridge Road in Chesterfield. He selected the numbers on his ticket using family birthdays. The winning numbers for that drawing were 7-12-13-19-22 and the Mega Ball was 10.
If he had matched that final number, Mr. Branch would have won a part of the $275 million jackpot. Nevertheless, he was one of three Virginians to win the $250,000 prize in the February 22 drawing. The other two were in Rustburg and Winchester.
Mr. Branch told Lottery officials he plans to invest his winnings.
