Cumming,GA courthouse clerk wins $500,000 Lotto

ATLANTA, GA., A courthouse clerk from Cumming is courting a half-million dollar Georgia Lottery prize. Rebecca Patino, 26, played the instant game Jumbo Jumbo Bucks and won $500,000. CITGO at Cumming Square, located at 1410 Atlanta Highway in Cumming, sold the lucky ticket.

Patino, who is married with a 6-year-old son, plans to pay bills and buy a new car. "It feels great because this will be life changing," she said.
According to Patino, she's a Georgia Lottery winner in more ways than one. She was a lottery-funded HOPE Scholarship recipient, and her son attended lottery-funded Pre-K.
"Both were great programs," she shared.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $9.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 860,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
