MEGA MILLIONS ESTIMATED JACKPOT GROWS TO $23 MILLION;
More Than 340,000 Tickets Win Prizes In Tuesday`s Drawing
Even though there was no jackpot winner in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, a lot of players still walked away winners. With nine different ways to win, a total of 344,149 tickets won prizes in the July 25 drawing. That includes two tickets that each won $250,000. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to take home the jackpot, that jackpot grows to an estimated $23 million for the Friday, July 28, 2006 drawing.
The winning numbers in Tuesday’s drawing were: 7-21-24-41-51 and the Mega Ball number was 10. Here is a complete breakdown of the winning tickets:
2 tickets matched 5 numbers for $250,000
16 tickets matched 4 numbers + the Mega Ball for $10,000
809 tickets matched 4 numbers for $150
969 tickets matched 3 numbers + the Mega Ball for $150
16,831 tickets matched 2 numbers + the Mega Ball for $10
43,378 tickets matched 3 numbers for $7
99,858 tickets matched 1 number + the Mega Ball for $3
182,286 tickets matched the Mega Ball for $2
The two tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in New York and Ohio.
Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts Mega Millions , Michigan, New Jersey Mega Millions , New York, Ohio Mega Millions , Texas, Virginia Mega Millions and Washington.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
