OKLAHOMA CITY Oklahoma won big in Wednesday evening’s Powerball drawing, with five winning tickets purchased in the state valued at more than $106 million combined.
A $105.8 million jackpot winning ticket was purchased in Roland, Oklahoma, at Roland Shell. A $200,000 ticket was purchased in Bartlesville, and three $10,000 winning tickets were purchased in Tulsa, Oklahoma City, and Broken Arrow.
The identities of the winners will not be known until they claim their prizes. Any new information on the winners will be distributed to the media as it becomes available.
The winning numbers drawn were: 9, 11, 13, 24, 43 and the Powerball was 18 with a powerplay number of 4. All of the winners have 180 days from the day of the drawing to claim their prizes. The jackpot winner will then have an additional 60 days to decide whether to take the one-time “lump sum” payment, or spread their winnings out in 30 installments over the course 29 years.
This is the second jackpot winning Powerball ticket sold in Oklahoma. The WJW Investment Trust claimed the first jackpot of $101.8 million in August 2006.
Net proceeds of all lottery games are used to support improvements and enhancements for Oklahoma education. More than $125.4 million has been contributed to education since November 2004.
