Lightning Strikes Again For Man Who Wins $100,000 For The Third Time


Don’t tell Ralph Stephens of Virginia Beach that lightning doesn’t strike in the same place. Lottery lightning has struck him three times!

Mr. Stephens matched all five numbers in the Virginia Lottery’s August 3, 2008, Cash 5 day drawing to win the top prize of $100,000. That win came about 16 months after he won $100,000 in April, 2007. Ten years before that, he matched all five numbers to win the top prize in the February 26, 1997, drawing.

For his most recent win, Mr. Stephens selected his own numbers. He bought the winning ticket at Lynnhaven Valero, located at 801 South Lynnhaven Road in Virginia Beach. The winning numbers for that drawing were 4-8-24-28-33.

He told Lottery officials that when he discovered he had won the top prize again, “I fell out of my chair!”
