Kent City,Michigan: Fred Topous hits Michigan Mega Millions for $57 million

LANSING,Michigan: June 21, 2008 - Fred Topous may have never won anything in his life until Friday. That's when Fed's Topous' easy pick Mega Millions ticket won him the $57 million Mega Millions lotto jackpot.
Fred Topous, didn't even realize that he had the winning Michigan Mega Millions lotto ticket.
He'd heard the winning ticket had been sold at Party World in Comstock Park so when he stopped at the store on his way home from work, he asked the clerk to check his ticket.


Realizing that he probably "won't need to get a loan," Topous said he plans to buy a house and plan for his children to attend college. "We thought we were going to end up working until we died, but not any more," Topous said.
"I want to enjoy little bit of life. We're plain folks. We've struggled all our lives. Now I don't have to wait until Friday to get groceries or put gas in the truck." Topous, who has vowed to continue to play Michigan Lottery games,
took the lump sum payment of $33,989,267.
