Carroll County, Maryland Man Wins $250,000 Mega Millions Lotto Prize

01/27/08 Carroll County, MD Man Wins $250,000 Mega Millions Prize
Winning Ticket Sold in Glen Burnie

Baltimore, MD On Tuesday, William Bill Hume’s co-worker told him that a $250,000 second-tier Mega Millions winning ticket was purchased at the MVA building where he works. Bill, an IT Senior Analyst, proceeded on with his day at work and went to a meeting. He tried unsuccessfully throughout the day to find the winning numbers but it wasn’t until Bill went home that he found out he was the big winner.
Bill immediately printed a copy of the winning numbers and shared the news with his wife, Karen. Once I told my wife I won, we were both really excited, said Bill. Knowing I usually lose things, I gave the ticket to her. Karen hid the ticket in the stove until they brought it to Lottery headquarters today.

Bill has worked with computers for 41 years and has been a State employee for 16 years. He always purchases one Multi Match and three Mega Millions tickets - twice a week - every week, 60-year-old Karen told Lottery officials. He’s won a few times before, but this was by far his biggest win yet.
The 65-year-old father and grandfather plans to pay bills, make repairs to his home and barn and invest in an IRA.
The ticket was purchased at MDBEP #018 The Traffic Lights, located inside the MVA at 6601 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie.
