winning Mega Millions lottery numbers for 8/11/06
More Than 355,000 Tickets Win Prizes In Friday`s Drawing
Even though there was no jackpot winner in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing, a lot of players still walked away winners. With nine different ways to win, a total of 358,585 tickets won prizes in the August 11 drawing. That includes four tickets that each won $250,000. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to take home the jackpot, that jackpot grows to an estimated $31 million for the Tuesday, August 15, 2006 drawing.
The winning numbers in Friday’s drawing were: 14-16-38-40-49 and the Mega Ball number was 29. Here is a complete breakdown of the winning tickets:
4 tickets matched 5 numbers for $250,000
23 tickets matched 4 numbers + the Mega Ball for $10,000
831 tickets matched 4 numbers for $150
941 tickets matched 3 numbers + the Mega Ball for $150
15,649 tickets matched 2 numbers + the Mega Ball for $10
42,311 tickets matched 3 numbers for $7
100,063 tickets matched 1 number + the Mega Ball for $3
198,763 tickets matched the Mega Ball for $2
The four tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in Georgia, Maryland, Michigan and New York.

Winning $208 million lottery ticket sold in FdL, Wisconsin
By Peggy Breister
The Reporter
pbreister@fdlreporter.com
The Miracle Mile is back. And in a big way.
A $208 million Powerball ticket sold at Ma & Pa’s
Grocery Express, 506 S. Main St., is the single
winner in Saturday’s drawing, according to the
Wisconsin State Lottery.
It is the largest jackpot ever won in Wisconsin.
Winner numbers drawn Saturday are 2, 3, 9, 48
and 50, and the Powerball is 23.
The last Powerball jackpot in Wisconsin was won
Jan. 8, 2005, by a Thiensville man. The previous
largest jackpot in Wisconsin was the $195 million
Powerball jackpot won by an Illinois couple on
May 20, 1998.
It is the first time in a few years someone has
hit it big on what has become known as
Fond du Lac’s Miracle Mile. In the 1990s,
several people won multi-million dollar jackpots
with tickets purchased at lottery outlets on South
Main Street. Several of those businesses have since closed.
The last multi-million dollar winner at Ma & Pa’s
was in 1994 when a Mercury Marine employee hit
the Megabucks jackpot of $6.5 million. Since
then the store has sold tickets with winnings of $500,000, a couple $250,000, a couple $100,000, and Phil
and a co-worker split a $138,000 jackpot.
Ma & Pa’s co-owner Phil Moses and his sister, Gena Singleton, got a call from their newspaper delivery person
that someone from Channel 4 television in Milwaukee
was at the store shortly before 5 a.m. today.
I thought, oh no, someone broke in or something,
Moses said this morning.

Powerball lottery rolls over to $204 Million
8/3/06 Powerball Jackpot Grows to $204 Million
Three-$800,000 Power Play Prizes Won! 8/3/2006
Powerball The Powerball jackpot continues to grow to unbelievable heights! Even though the grand prize was not awarded Wednesday, three lucky tickets in DC, Iowa, and North Carolina each won $800,000 with Power Play. A total of 952,566 players across the nation won more than $13.6 million in prizes in America’s Game.
Because no one correctly matched all six numbers in Wednesday’s drawing the jackpot will grow to an estimated $204 million.
The cash option for the Saturday, August 5th drawing will be an estimated $92.7 million.
The numbers drawn Wednesday evening were 10, 13, 16, 19, 24 and the Powerball was 15. The Power Play multiplier was 4.
Seventeen tickets correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $200,000. These winning tickets were purchased in Colorado (2), DC (1), Delaware (1), Iowa (1), Indiana (2), Minnesota (1), Missouri Powerball (2), North Carolina Powerball(1), New Mexico (1), Pennsylvania Powerball (1), Vermont Powerball (1), Wisconsin (2), and West Virginia (1). The three lucky tickets in DC (1), Iowa (1), and North Carolina (1), not only matched the 5 white numbers, but also purchased the Power Play option multiplying the $200,000 prize by 4 for a total win of $800,000!
Sixty-nine tickets matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000 each. Thirteen additional winners of that prize category also purchased the Power Play option, giving them a total win of $40,000 each.
More than 150,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 4 Wednesday. They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you multiply your Powerball winnings 2-5 times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night’s multiplier.
Players should carefully check their tickets after every draw. Even if there are no jackpot winners there are always tens of thousands of winners at other prize levels.
Players purchased more than $40.2 million worth of tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night. The lotteries sold $2.8 billion in Powerball tickets in FY06. That translates into more than $800 million for worthwhile state projects.

site for lotto soceer shoes
Lotto Sport Italia was established in 1973 by the Caberlotto family in Montebelluna, northern Italy, the world centre of footwear manufacturing.
During its first decade, corporate strategy concentrated on making tennis footwear and clothing, and early on sponsored big names from the professional tennis circuit (Martina Navratilova, Boris Becker, Thomas Muster, Andrea Gaudenzi) - a strategy that brought the early victories at Wimbledon, the US Open and Roland Garros. In the 80s Lotto moved on to broaden its business base by competing among the then small group of manufacturers of football boots and clothing.
The first models of studded boots were thus created and the first sponsorship agreements signed with important players (including Dino Zoff, Ruud Gullit, Zvonimir Boban, Clarence Seedorf, Cafu, Andriy Shevchenko) and clubs (such as Milan, the Netherlands national squad, Napoli, Juventus, ChievoVerona, and Real Zaragoza).
Lotto's products are famous worldwide for their quality, style and technology content - these being the key characteristics that have brought them renown in the worlds of professional and amateur sport alike.
Winning characteristics which feature in all of Lotto's products, and which have led the company to become a world-leading manufacturer of boots, footwear and clothing for football, five-a-side football and tennis.
Starting from the late 80s Lotto also created a "leisurewear" collection of men's, women's and children's footwear and clothing that delivered just what even the most demanding consumers wanted in terms of leisure-time style.

Powerball rolls over to $86 million
POWERBALL JACKPOT LEAPS TO $86 MILLION;$1 MILLION POWER PLAY PRIZE WON!
7/13/2006
(Powerball) Even though the grand prize was not hit Wednesday evening, Powerball paid off BIG in multiple ways. One lucky ticket won a $1 million prize with the Power Play option in Pennsylvania! In addition, four other lucky tickets won $200,000 for matching 5 white ball numbers in the states of Arizona Powerball (1), Iowa Powerball (1), Kentucky Powerball (1), and West Virginia Powerball (1).
The jackpot for the Saturday, July 15th drawing will be $86 million with the cash option at $38.8 million.
The numbers drawn Wednesday evening were 18, 19, 30, 31, 33, and the Powerball was 15. The Power Play multiplier was 5.
Sixteen tickets matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Four additional players of that prize level wisely purchased the Power Play and had their prize multiplied by 5 for a $50,000 cash win! A total of 472,858 players across the nation won more than $5.8 million in prizes playing America’s favorite game.
More than 86,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 5 Wednesday. They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for $1. With Power Play you multiply your Powerball winnings from 2-5 times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night’s multiplier.
Players should carefully check their tickets after every draw. Even if there are no jackpot winners there are always tens of thousands of winners at other prize levels.
Players purchased more than $21 million in Powerball tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night.
The lotteries sold $2.8 billion in Powerball tickets in fiscal year 2006. That translates into over $800 million for worthwhile state projects.
Powerball is now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

9 Delphi coworkers win Hoosier Lotto jackpot on their factory pool’s final drawing!
Nine Delphi coworkers win Hoosier Lotto jackpot on their factory pool’s final drawing!!
INDIANAPOLIS – Some may call it fate, irony or destiny, but the nine Delphi coworkers who split a $9 million Hoosier Lotto jackpot simply call it great timing. The nine men, eight of whom were faced with the decision of retiring or transferring by June 30, 2006 after Delphi announced plans to close its Anderson plant, were part of a factory pool that faithfully played Hoosier Lotto dating back to its inaugural drawing (then known as Lotto Cash) on May 5, 1990. Around that date, Dick Quinn purchased the group’s first tickets and on July 1, 2006 he would purchase the group’s last tickets, one of which would turn out to be the windfall they had waited for all these years.
“After 16 years we were going to have to stop playing because everybody here was being forced to either transfer or retire – so this really was our last chance,” said Quinn. “We had matched 5 of 6 once and 4 of 6 quite a few times, but this is just unbelievable.
Quinn had managed the pool over the past 16 years, buying $50 worth of tickets per week plus as many extra tickets he could purchase with the group’s winnings from the previous week. It would be one of these extra purchases that matched all six numbers for the July 1 Hoosier Lotto drawing. The men claimed their prize this afternoon at Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis, opting to take the cash option worth $3.7 million. Each winner received an equal share of $370,000 before taxes, except Quinn who received $740,000. Quinn had been paying an extra share each week for the last six months after another coworker opted out of the pool.
“Dick has been taking our money for years and never gave a cent of it back until this,” said coworker Nicholas Gray, who joked that many of his fellow pool members started to wonder if Dick was secretly keeping the money.
The group’s windfall made everyone’s ultimatum of retiring or transferring a little easier. Only one man, Ralph Flesher, who at 50 years old is the youngest in the group, chose to transfer and will continue working beyond January 1 of next year. Seven others have either retired or will retire when Anderson’s Delphi plant ceases operations at the end of the year. One group member, Jeff Fisher, who stayed in the pool after leaving Delphi several years ago, recently retired from General Motors in Indianapolis.
“You see folks on TV all the time winning these sort of prizes and you wonder what kind of people they are,” said coworker Richard Howard. “I can assure everyone that these are all a bunch of good guys who work hard and are wonderful people.”

Date: June 16, 2006
ATLANTA – With two weeks remaining in the fiscal year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation (GLC) today announced its annual sales have surpassed $3 BILLION for the first time in GLC history.
"Crossing the $3 billion mark in sales is a significant milestone for the Georgia Lottery and the citizens of Georgia, who benefit from every dollar we raise," said GLC President and CEO Margaret DeFrancisco. "As we approach the end of the fiscal year on such a strong note, we remain committed to our mission of maximizing dollars for the HOPE Scholarship and Prekindergarten Programs."
The Georgia Lottery's fiscal year 2006 spans from July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2006. GLC sales for fiscal year 2005 reached a then-record $2.92 billion.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $8.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Prekindergarten Program. More than 900,000 students have received HOPE Scholarships, and more than 700,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.

GENERAL PRESS INFORMATION
The Multi-State Lottery Association is a government-benefit, non-profit association entirely
owned and operated by the member lotteries. The association has a twelve member staff that
operates at the direction of the Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of the lottery
directors for each of the member lotteries. The current membership of 31 lotteries includes:
the
Arizona Lottery, Colorado Lottery, Connecticut Lottery Corporation, Washington D.C. Lottery &
Charitable Games, Delaware State Lottery, Idaho Lottery, Indiana (Hoosier) Lottery, Iowa
Lottery, Kansas Lottery, Kentucky Lottery Corporation, Louisiana lottery Corporation, Maine
State Lottery, Minnesota State Lottery, Missouri Lottery, Montana Lottery, Nebraska Lottery,
New Hampshire Lottery Commission, New Mexico Lottery Authority, North Carolina Education
Lottery, North Dakota Lottery, Oklahoma Lottery, Oregon Lottery, Pennsylvania Lottery, Rhode
Island Lottery, South Carolina Education Lottery, South Dakota Lottery, Tennessee Education
Lottery Corporation, US Virgin Islands Lottery, Vermont Lottery, West Virginia Lottery, and the
Wisconsin Lottery.
The association currently offers four lottery games: POWERBALL is sold through thirty
member lotteries; Hot Lotto is currently sold through nine members; Wild Card2 is sold
through four jurisdictions; and the newest MUSL game, 2by2 , is sold in three member
jurisdictions. Oklahoma began sales of Powerball on January 12, 2006. The newest MUSL
member, the North Carolina Education Lottery, will begin sales of Powerball in the spring of
2006.
All profits from the games are kept by the state that sells the ticket. The members share the cost
of operating the association based on their percentage of total sales. The association conducts
drawings, performs central game administration (including game development and research), and
manages central accounting and the purchase of government securities to fund annuitized prizes.
On September 16, 1987, the lottery directors of the District of Columbia, Iowa, Kansas, Oregon,
Rhode Island, and West Virginia formed the Multi-State Lottery Association. The Missouri
Lottery joined the association later that month. The original seven members offered a joint lotto
game call LOTTO*AMERICA 7/40® which began sales on February 13, 1988.
LOTTOAMERICA was replaced on April 19, 1992 by the now world famous POWERBALL .
The POWERBALL game was designed following research to meet the wishes of the players.
Players in all jurisdictions said virtually the same thing: Give me a chance at a big jackpot, but I
also want to win a significant smaller prize while I’m waiting to win the big one.” The size of a
significant smaller prize varied by player, but the POWERBALL game offers enough cash
prize levels ($3 to $200,000) to meet everyone’s wishes. The game has seen continued growth,
especially at the beginning jackpot levels. It is clear that the large jackpots attract the player’s
attention but the large number of winning experiences are what keeps the players coming back to
the game.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
There are 30 member lotteries currently selling the POWERBALL game to a population of
96.2 million with tickets being sold through over 58,000 terminals. The drawing show is
uplinked live to over 89 television stations every Wednesday and Saturday night at 10:59 p.m.
Eastern Time.
MUSL’s first game was LOTTO*AMERICA 7/40® which started sales on Wednesday,
February 3, 1988. The first draw was on Saturday, February 13, 1988. This game had a weekly
drawing on Saturday night. MUSL’s second game was LOTTO*AMERICA 6/54® with sales
starting on February 5, 1989. The first drawing was February 8, 1989. The original
POWERBALL game began sales on April 19, 1992. The first POWERBALL drawing was
on April 22, 1992.
After more than five years as America’s premier jackpot game, POWERBALL was updated
beginning with the drawing of November 5, 1997. In order to generate larger average jackpots,
the game changed from a 5 of 45 white ball plus 1 of 45 red ball game to a 5 of 49 plus 1 of 42
Page 6
format. Low-tier prize levels were increased, the guaranteed starting jackpot was raised to $10
million, and players were offered the option of taking the jackpot as a lump sum cash payment.
In March 2001, a major product enhancement was designed for the POWERBALL product.
This Power Play feature allows a player to multiply their winnings of all set prizes (all prizes
except the jackpot prize) by a number randomly drawn in a wheel spin just before the
POWERBALL drawing. Power Play players who win any of the set prizes are guaranteed to
multiply their winnings by at least two. The Power Play wheel has 4 slots each of the numbers
2 thru 5 for a total of sixteen slots.
As the population base playing POWERBALL continued to increase with Pennsylvania
joining the association in June 2002 (12,281,054 pop.); South Carolina in October 2002
(4,012,012 pop.); and the US Virgin Islands lottery in November 2002 (108,612) the matrix was
again changed on October 6, 2002 by adding 4 additional balls to the white ball set. No
additional balls were added to the red balls with the resulting matrix becoming 5/53 + 1/42.
The continued success of the POWERBALL brand prompted four more states to join the
game: Vermont (7/1/03), North Dakota (3/25/04), Tennessee (4/19/04), and Maine (7/30/04).
With 29 members and a total population of 91,921,242 the matrix was again changed to insure
game performance starting with the drawing of August 31, 2005. Additional enhancements to
the game included: minimum jackpots starting at $15 million; the secondary prize raised to
$200,000; and the third prize increased to $10,000.
While no additional balls were added to the red Powerball set, two additional numbers were
added to the white balls resulting in a matrix of 5/55 + 1/42 as shown below.

South Carolina Poweerball Group Claims $1 Million Power Play Prize!
“Pay me the MONEY!” is what the group of Upstate dispatchers chanted at the South Carolina Education Lottery’s (SCEL) Columbia Claims Center late Thursday, June 8. Four of the 10-member group drove down from the Upstate to claim their share of the $1 million match five Power Play win in the Wednesday, June 7, Powerball drawing. The group of ten pitches-in a few dollars on occasion to vie for the big jackpot. “Everybody picks their own numbers except for one person,” said Thomas Whitt, of Spartanburg. “She does the quick pick.”
The white numbers for that Powerball drawing were: 4, 10, 20, 26, and 40. The Powerball ® was 8 and the PowerPlay® number was 5. To win the match 5 cash prize of $200,000, a player must match all five white balls. The group paid the extra dollar for the PowerPlay® option, which multiplies any non-jackpot prize by the number selected from 2-5 . Because the PowerPlay ® number drawn was 5, their $200,000 prize became $1 million.
Out of all of the numbers the group selected, Whitt’s numbers won. “I just use the interstate numbers,” he said. “I guess all my life anytime I needed to pick numbers, I would use the interstate numbers. And it seems like they do come up a lot.”
The four group members stated they will use their winnings to pay off some bills.

Powerball rolls over to $100 million for Sat lotto game
(Powerball) Even though the grand prize was not hit Wednesday evening, Powerball paid off BIG in multiple ways. There were three tickets that won $600,000 with the Power Play option in North Carolina Powerball (1), North Dakota (1), and South Carolina (1)! In addition, two other lucky tickets won $200,000 for matching 5 white ball numbers in the states of North Carolina Powerball(1), and Nebraska Powerball (1).
The jackpot for the Saturday, June 17th drawing will be $100 million with the cash option at $45.6 million.
The numbers drawn Wednesday evening were 4, 14, 15, 40, 48, and the Powerball was 12. The Power Play multiplier was 3.
Twenty-four tickets matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Five additional players of that prize level wisely purchased the Power Play and had their prize multiplied by 3 for a $30,000 cash win! A total of 538,248 players across the nation won more than $5.8 million in prizes playing America’s favorite game.
More than 97,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 3 Wednesday.
Players purchased more than $22.6 million in Powerball tickets between Sunday and Wednesday night.
The lotteries have sold approximately $2.6 billion in Powerball tickets so far in fiscal year 2006. That translates into approximately $750 million for worthwhile state projects.
Powerball is now played in 29 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Mega Millions lotto game ruled legal in California
SACRAMENTO — A judge ruled Tuesday that the state can continue participating in multi-state Mega Millions lotto if new legislation clarifies some issues.
Gambling expansion foes challenged the games constitutionality. They contend that voters originally approved a lottery only within the borders of the state.
Were very pleased with the ruling to keep Mega Millions in California, said Joan Borucki, acting director of the California Lottery. Mega Millions will benefit public schools.
One third of the lotterys proceeds go to education.
Sacramento Superior Court Judge Lloyd Connelly ruled that although Mega Millions was a substantially lawful game in California, there is a remote potential conflict involving different jackpot claim periods between states and therefore the possibility of California being shorted funds.
Connelly gave the lottery a year to address the highly technical issue. Measures to modify the lottery are currently moving through the Legislature and could be amended to make the change.

Pennsylvanian “Rich” becomes RICH with $1 Million Power Play Win!
A Langhorne woman is one of Pennsylvania 's newest millionaires, having matched all five white balls in the April 22 Powerball drawing. Patricia Rich had 04-05-06-18-27 , but not the red Powerball, 24, to win $1 million, less 25 percent federal withholding. She was the only Match 5 winner in Pennsylvania for the drawing. Matching 5-of-5 white ball numbers without the red Powerball number – second prize in the Powerball game – is normally worth $200,000. However, in the April 22 Powerball drawing, players who purchased the PowerPlay option saw their winnings multiply five times, since five was the PowerPlay number randomly selected prior to that night's Powerball drawing.
Rich says she selected her Powerball ticket numbers using her children's and grandson's birthdates.

Letter from the Massachusetts State Lottery
Director of the Massachusetts State Lottery
LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dear Friends and Colleagues:
Since our inception in 1971, the Massachusetts Lottery’s mission has been to support the cities and towns of the Commonwealth. I am pleased to report that almost 35 years later, we’ve continued to successfully meet that responsibility.
The Lottery posted its best year ever in Fiscal Year 2005. Record-high sales of $4.4 billion yielded hundreds of thousands of winners throughout Massachusetts.
Massachusetts State Lottery
While the Lottery awarded more than $3.2 billion to players last year - an average of $9 million every day - the biggest beneficiaries of our most successful year were the 351 cities and towns of Massachusetts. A record $936 million in Lottery revenues were returned to the Commonwealth for municipalities in FY05. At a time when local aid dollars are an increasingly vital resource for communities, the Lottery is proud to play such a significant role in supporting our cities and towns.
The Lottery is able to achieve our revenue goals by operating this very important public agency as a business enterprise, adhering to quality performance each and every day. Our administrative costs are lower than two percent of our overall gross revenues, establishing our state Lottery as the most efficient lottery in the United States.
With five regional offices, and a partnership with more than 7,500 licensed retail sales agents, the Massachusetts Lottery operates 24-hours a day, 365 days a year to ensure that our lottery is always working efficiently and effectively for our customers, as well as the taxpayers of our state.
We are proud of our accomplishments this past fiscal year and are forever mindful that with each new fiscal year additional goals and challenges lie ahead. Looking ahead to Fiscal Year 2006, we look forward to further improving upon operations, offering games of entertainment and value to our customers, maximizing revenues for cities and towns and continuing the tradition of success that is synonymous with the Massachusetts Lottery.
Sincerely,
Joseph C. Sullivan
Executive Director

Mega Millions lotto rolls over to $36 million for Tuesday
MEGA MILLIONS ESTIMATED JACKPOT GROWS TO $36 MILLION; More Than 430,000 Tickets Win Prizes In Friday`s Drawing
Even though there was no jackpot winner in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing, a lot of players still walked away winners. With nine different ways to win, a total of 431,428 tickets won prizes in the May 26 drawing. That includes three tickets that each won $250,000. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to take home the jackpot, that jackpot grows to an estimated $36 million for the Tuesday, May 30, 2006 drawing.
The winning numbers in Friday’s drawing were: 12-14-20-47-48 and the Mega Ball number was 24. Here is a complete breakdown of the winning tickets:
3 tickets matched 5 numbers for $250,000
24 tickets matched 4 numbers + the Mega Ball for $10,000
908 tickets matched 4 numbers for $150
1,244 tickets matched 3 numbers + the Mega Ball for $150
20,986 tickets matched 2 numbers + the Mega Ball for $10
52,184 tickets matched 3 numbers for $7
125,756 tickets matched 1 number + the Mega Ball for $3
230,323 tickets matched the Mega Ball for $2
The three tickets that each won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in Maryland, New Jersey and New York.
Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.

Lottery Syndicates: The Smarter Way To Play The Lotto?
Author: Jason Lewis
Article:
Do you play the lottery? Just like everyone else who buys a
ticket, I'm sure you'd love to win the jackpot, am I right?
The problem as I'm sure you already know, is that the odds of
scooping a big lottery win are extremely low.
However, there is something you can do to drastically increase
your chances of winning a big cash prize, just by changing the
way you play the lotto. Instead of just playing on your own, why
don't you consider playing as part of a lottery syndicate?
I know what you're thinking...yeah that's a great idea but I
don't want to share the prize with anyone. The thing is; with a
syndicate you are far more likely to win, than if you just play
with your own tickets.
It's Better To Have A Share In A Big Lottery Prize, Than No Win
At All
Think about the times when you've read about a lottery win of
some note. How many times have you seen a picture of a syndicate
winning it? It's appears that syndicates seem to win it more
often than individuals these days.
That's because savvy lottery players are joining more and more
syndicates to increase their chances of winning.
When you see all those syndicate winners posing for photos with
some celebrity, do they look disappointed to you? Of course they
don't, they are as pleased as punch!
Even if you win a share in one of the smaller prizes, that could
still make a huge difference to your life. What could you do
with a £5000 lottery win?
* You could enjoy a fantastic holiday abroad
* Pay off some or all of your debts
* Buy a newer car
* Get some new furniture for your house
The Problems With A Syndicate
Obviously, like a lot of things, syndicates do have their
drawbacks. Many syndicates are formed by friends and work
colleagues. Everything usually starts out on good terms, but
it's common for a certain amount of friction to build up between
syndicate members. Even before any money is won.
Someone has to be appointed to collect the money and buy the
lottery tickets. This in itself can be a bone of contention,
because you need to have someone that everyone in the syndicate
trusts.
It's not just about whether they will run off with the money if
you win, but they also need to be very reliable, so that
everyone knows the tickets are always purchased every single
week, without fail. I'm sure you've read about the horror
stories, when the syndicate numbers come up, but the person in
charge of buying the tickets forgot to buy them.
There's also the problem with some syndicate members not paying
on time. They say things like: "they are a bit short of money
this week, so they will pay double next week". What happens if
you win this week, and they hadn't paid their money? That's when
serious infighting can occur.
In my book though, playing the lottery as part of a syndicate is
definitely the smarter way to play. I believe that the positives
far outweigh the negatives, because you are so much more likely
to win. Instead of just 1 or two lines this week, how do you
fancy your chances with 80?
What if you did 80 lines every single week? Sounds exciting,
doesn't it? Playing the lottery like this makes the whole
experience so much more enjoyable.
A Hassle Free Alternative
Because of the rising popularity of lottery syndicates, there
are now a few companies who take care of managing the syndicate
for you.
* They bring together people interested in joining, so you can
join a syndicate straightaway.
* They collect all the money from every member by direct debit,
so you never get people in the syndicate who haven't paid to be
there every week.
* They buy all the tickets electronically, and give you your
numbers before the draw is made. So you always know for certain,
that the tickets have been purchased.
Personally, I think this really takes away the hassle, and puts
the fun back into playing the lottery. I don't know what you
think, but for me, it sure beats standing in that long queue
every week, waiting to buy a ticket.
If you want to really improve your chances of winning the lotto,
you should seriously consider joining a lottery syndicate.
